Yeast, once it takes hold in the intestinal mucosa, is difficult to eliminate and if eliminated, tends to return over and over. Dietary changes which control yeast overgrowth must become a life style change in order to be meaningful as a long term prevention. Once having dominated the intestinal mucosa, yeast renders the mucosa partially incompetent to regulate the entry of digested food into the intestine. This circumstance is called the "leaky gut syndrome" and what leaks into the circulation are long chain polypeptides (partially digested protein). These molecules can set off the immune system into inappropriate action as they are recognized as "foreign" by the immune system. The antibodies which are produced may attack host tissue and this may account for some autoimmune diseases.
I will begin with the most important aspect of the mis-named "yeast syndrome,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," namely treatment. Many thousands of people are suffering from this complex of symptoms which are all due to the toxic effects of extreme dysbiosis. Almost all treatment approaches suppress but do not cure. I aim for (and usually achieve) a final cure and to this end I have replaced traditional therapies for "yeast syndrome" with the German SanPharma and Pekana remedies. Why? Because they work,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], are simple and straight forward and the old therapies do not work but rather eave people trapped in treatment for a lifetime. Symptoms of Yeast Syndrome:
Antibiotics, especially Tetracycline, long used at the drop of a hat by doctors eager for a simple answer to complex health problems, kill off bacteria which are needed for normal digestion. In their relative absence intestinal yeast are able to proliferate beyond their normal bounds. Add to this the excessive intake of not only simple sugars but "high glycemic index" carbohydrates such as breads, pastas, potatoes, and rice which convert to simple sugars in short order, and yeast organisms are provided with their basic food group. Under these conditions yeast can proliferate and cause symptoms even in people with normal immune systems.
The physician responsible for highly publicizing the Candida syndrome is Dr. William G. Crook, M.D. who wrote The Yeast Connection: A Medical Breakthrough.
Symptoms of yeast syndrome are caused by the normal byproducts of yeast metabolism. Candida has been found to produce 79 distinct toxins. The human body must dispose of these toxins. They easily diffuse throughout the body and no organ system is immune to the effects they produce.
Treatment of Immune System Dysregulation
Yeast overgrowth is implicated in many forms of psoriasis and other dermatoses (Skinner, Crook, James, Oranje, Buslau), also in infantile seborrheic dermatitis (Bothe, Busacker, Reinel).
The incidence of yeast syndrome is remarkably high. In my practice signs and symptoms suggesting yeast syndrome are present in ½ of new patients. This can be attributed to the commonness of factors thought to lead to a predisposition to this health problem. The three most important factors favoring the development of this syndrome are the presence of dental amalgam and resultant mercury toxicity, the use (and overuse) of antibiotics and the high carbohydrate content of the typical western diet. All three of these predisposing factors are widely prevalent in the modern western world and both favor the growth of yeast. To be correct - yeast, fungus, and anaerobic bacteria as "yeast syndrome" always involves all three. In this article, when I write "yeast," I am referring to all three - yeast, fungus,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and anaerobic bacteria. This condition is also know as dysbiosis. Persistent bloating and flatulence unrelated to specific foods are the consistent symptoms.
The Yeast Syndrome, also known as chronic candidiasis, the chronic candida syndrome, and candida related complex is still unaccepted by some medical doctors. The habit of the medical establishment, in general, is to not accept as real any symptom complex which they do not understand. The effects of chronic yeast infestation in the intestine are so widespread in the body that it does not at first seem logical that one thing could cause all this. Many patients have been branded hypochondriac, malingering,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], neurotic, and hysteric who appeared in doctors' offices with this complex,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], confusing symptomatology. One of the symptoms is irritability and this quality has tended to alienate doctors, leaving both doctor and patient frustrated. Chronic yeast, in fact, shows nothing on routine blood tests.

As February is heart month I thought it fitting to write about things that are good for your heart, and beans is one of them.

PROJECTION of anger is very common.  Quite often, an individuals’ rage is “split off” and then “projected” on to someone else.  For example,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if an individual is holding suppressed anger that was not allowed to be expressed as a child in a containing and holding environment, this individual will more easily project this anger on to the driver who cuts him off on the freeway, or might even develop a prejudice against another culture (the members of this culture become “the screen” for this anger to  be projected upon).
SPLITTING is the precursor to projection.  If a feeling is so intolerable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then this feeling will be in a sense broken off from a persons’ consciousness and thrown (projected) into someone else so that the other will have to hold (feel) this emotion.

Anger seems to be one of the primary emotions with which most people consistently struggle.  Anger can be an extremely SCARY emotion for an individual to feel…it is powerful and therefore difficult for people to HOLD.  “Holding” in the psychological sense means the ability to tolerate an emotion and allow for the actual feeling of it.  Children have temper tantrums.  They get angry…sometimes really angry!  This can be a problem if a parent doesn’t set limits on this expression.  However, if a child is not allowed to feel this anger,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then it goes somewhere else…it is suppressed and hidden, and can be unresolved and not directly expressed for years.  
PROBLEMS:
1) Anger is SUPPRESSED.  Suppression can lead to agression, violence, substance abuse, anxiety, depression etc.
Many parents cannot handle their own anger so it is impossible for them to not have a reaction to their children’s anger.  These parents become afraid to see anger in their children as the parents are afraid to see it in their own self.  A common reaction to this is to “throw” this anger back at their children via shaming, confusing punishment or even bigger “adult rage” (which to a child is even more terrifying than their own rage.)  This inability for a parent to hold anger causes the childs’ rage to become suppressed.  
3) Anger is NOT HELD or TOLERATED by another,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], (especially primary caregivers during development),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], leading to the message for a child that anger is TOXIC and should not be felt or expressed.
EX: “I understand that you’re angry.  It is frustrating that you can’t have another cookie,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but that is how it is.  You need to accept that.”
2) Anger is PROJECTED and misdirected onto another person or group of people, leading to prejudice and intolerance.
SOLUTIONS: Anger is RESPECTED, HELD and CONTAINED by primary caregivers…Meaning a child is given BOUNDARIES.  Children actually want and need boundaries…as it allows their anger,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], (that often feels out of control and without boundaries) to feel HELD.  Rules and discipline are important for this, but given in an UNSHAMING manner.  
Sometimes this unresolved and unexpressed anger seeps out in destructive ways and can lead to violence,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], substance abuse and even depression, (which is often described as anger turned inward).  It is often very difficult for individuals to admit that they are angry…at anything or anyone. For many,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there was a “script” somehow given to them as a child that they cannot get angry without being made to feel ashamed for it or punished.  This punishment can be confusing if it is not explained to a child in an empathic way.

* Gain Weight: Sometimes our poor eating habits start because we want to gain weight to improve our body image. I remember when I was a kid and I looked down at my body, I didn't like my knobby knees and made a conscious attempt to eat to make my legs bigger. Wow, what I wouldn’t give for those knobby knees now!
* See and be Seen: Sometimes we go out to social events to see and be seen. Food is almost always a part of these events.
One of the first things in learning to change a behavior is to bring into conscious awareness why you do the thing you are attempting to stop doing. Losing weight is a theme common to many who have enough in their lives that their own starvation is not something that concerns them. According to Inside Out Empowerment, we know that all behavior is purposeful. We never do anything for no reason. Everything is done in our best attempt to get something we want.
* Companionship: Sometimes you eat to spend time with your friends. You know, everyone is going out to eat and you don’t want to be left out.
* Manners: Sometimes you might eat because you have been told it is rude not to.
* Hunger: the only good reason to eat is that you are hungry and need to refuel your body,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
* Prevent Hunger: I have a friend whose mother taught him eating is what you do so you don’t get hungry. Can you imagine what happens when we start eating to prevent hunger?
* Self-Soothing: sometimes you may eat to comfort yourself. Some food is called “comfort food” for a reason. It takes us back to a time when things were simpler and everything felt safe,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
* It’s Free: Do you ever eat because someone else is picking up the check and you look at it as saving money?
* Freedom from Unpleasant Emotions: This is a big reason many eat. It’s often called emotional eating. We eat to reduce stress,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], soothe unhappiness, chomp through anger,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stave off loneliness, and alleviate boredom. Eating was never designed to do these things but once we make that association, we are more likely to continue using eating to help ourselves feel better.
* Because I Can: At times we eat as if throwing caution to the wind. Oh, what the heck, I can work out longer on the treadmill. Or it may even be a situation where you just want to prove you can eat something not so good for you but it sure tastes good at the time.
